The value for money is incredible, with prices that won't break the bank. The attention to detail is evident in the beautiful Chinese-style gardens adorned with lanterns. The location in one of Beijing's famous hutongs is perfect, just a short walk from the subway station on the ring line. The rooms are cozy and charming, with traditional Chinese decor and even their own computer for guests to use. The breakfast offers delicious Chinese food at very reasonable prices.
All was perfect, nothing to improve.

The location of this hotel was perfect for exploring the city, with a subway station just a short walk away. the hotel's beautiful garden area added an authentic Chinese touch to our stay, and our room had a lovely view overlooking it. the room itself was well-furnished and comfortable, making for a pleasant stay.
Although most of the staff were friendly and helpful, one member at reception was not very accommodating when we asked for restaurant reservations.

When you stay at the Bamboo Garden Hotel, you feel as if you've been transported back to old China. The hotel buildings comprise a "courtyard home" which used to belong to a rich Beijinger perhaps 200 years ago. The extensive gardens provide a natural setting, and the rooms utilize period furniture and decorations that recapture the flavor of the days of the emperors. The entire staff speaks English, and there is a good restaurant and an excellent coffee/tea house on the premises, so you needn't go outside for meals if you want to be cocooned in Old Beijing.
The location requires a taxi ride to almost everywhere else. But this is no problem, as the staff will gladly call one for you. And the location is in one way a plus, for you are situated amid a bustling hutong. You can stroll outside your hotel and experience Beijing's backyards and alleys.

We did not think the breakfast was adequate. Mostly European guests but breakfast 90% asian dishes. Breakfast was from 7 am to 10am and when on trips starting at 7am no room service or earlier breakfast was available although requested.

We had a lovely Xmas stay at this traditional hotel. the rooms were beautifully decorated in classic Chinese style, and the complimentary tea and coffee were a nice touch. the location was prime, with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, and historical landmarks just a short taxi ride away.
Although the hotel was charming, we did notice a faint smoke smell in the room. the narrow alleys around the hotel made it a bit difficult to navigate, particularly when trying to avoid dog poop on the ground.

This hotel is really beautiful. The whole building is decorated in authentic Chinese style with antique furniture throughout. The large, beautiful garden is hung with Chinese lanterns and was full of blossom when we visited. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and well furnished. The location is a short walk from the Drum and Bell towers and Bei Hai park is not to be missed.
The immediate surrounding area is a little daunting at first. It would be helpful if the Hotel had a local map as the staff on reception don't all speak English. The food in the restaurant was OK but could have been of a better standard.

This hotel is located in one of the famous Beijing hutongs, giving it a unique and charming atmosphere. The lovely Chinese-red comforters and beautiful traditional furniture in the rooms truly capture the essence of traditional Chinese style. The staff at this hotel are incredibly attentive and courteous. They were there waiting for us at the airport upon our late-night arrival and made our check-in process efficient and hassle-free. The hotel offers basic amenities such as free internet access on a computer in the rooms, as well as complimentary bottles of water. This attention to detail and guest comfort is greatly appreciated.
All was perfect.

It is a beautiful hotel, located in a historic building in a living neighborhood in Beijing. It makes you feel you are in China, not in a regular international hotel. Definitely a great experience.
The food at the restaurant is not really good and expensive compared to the price you pay in the restaurants outside.

The grounds are delightful and the rooms well appointed with traditional Chinese furniture and decor.

Quiet heaven in the middle of Beijing, great location less than 10 minute walk to subway, wonderful garden, close to nice hutongs and places to visit.
Maybe a bit hard to find when getting out of the subway. Need a precise map to find the hotel (or ask locals).
